REGISTERING FOR THE EVENT

Who should attend?

The Succession and Elder Law Conference is relevant to everyone who specialises in these areas and especially to Accredited Specialists in Succession Law looking to gain the required additional five CPD points in their area of specialty. 

How much does it cost to attend?

QLS Member Early Career Lawyer - $499

QLS Member - $579

Non-Members - $699

Can I share my registration with another person?

Splitting or sharing a registration is not allowed under any circumstance. Even if you only want to attend part of the conference you cannot share your registration with another delegate.

Can I register to attend just one session?

No. Registrations are for the full day, which covers attendance to the entire day’s program. Delegates cannot register to attend a single session or a half-day session.

When do registrations close?

Tickets are available until 5pm, Friday 15 August 2025, unless sold out prior.

Can I cancel my registration?

If you need to cancel your registration, please send your request via email to events@qls.com.au.

If we receive your cancellation at least 7 days before the event (not including the event day), we'll refund your registration fee minus a 30% cancellation fee. If the cancellation request comes in 7 days or less before the event (again, not including the event day), no refund will be offered. You may transfer your registration to another person at any time with no penalty. Full QLS events terms and conditions can be found here.

Is the event hybrid?

 Attendance is in-person only. The event will be recorded and produced as an on-demand resource. The recording will be available to purchase from the QLS Shop post-conference.


GETTING THERE

Where do I park?

Pullman Brisbane King George Square has onsite parking available at the rate of $50 per vehicle, per day for valet or self-parking, subject to availability. Other alternate parking stations are: 

King George Square – 87 Roma Street, Brisbane QLD 4000 (opposite the hotel)
Queens Plaza Carpark - 250 Edward Street, Brisbane QLD 4000 (10 mins walk)

How do I get there?

Located in the heart of Brisbane CBD, 15km from Brisbane International and Domestic Airports, 500m from Roma Street Train Station and 500m from Central Train Station. A map and directions are available here.

Is there travel discounts available?

ON THE DAY

Is the conference catered?

As with most QLS events, we have a delicious and plentiful food and drink offering! 

Will I get access to presenter materials?

Some presenter materials may be available on the conference app and some will be sent to attendees at the close of the conference. Materials availability is subject to presenter approval.

How to ask a question in a session?

If you wish to ask a question or make a comment during the session, please raise your hand and wait for the microphone or use the Live Q&A tab within the app for that session. The chair will address questions submitted at an appropriate time within the session.

Is there a dress code?

The dress code for all conference sessions and the social function is business, or smart casual. Some attendees find the conference rooms cool so we recommend bringing a light jumper or jacket.


EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Is the conference recorded?

Yes, the conference will not be recorded and available for purchase after the event. A 50% discount on the recording package will be offered to attending delegates.

How many CPD points do I earn?

Attendance at the full conference entitles you to claim 7 CPD points for the 2025/2026 CPD year. Delegates may be eligible for the full complement of mandatory areas including Professional Skills, Practical Legal Ethics and Practice Management and Business Skills.
