REGISTERING FOR THE EVENT

Who should attend?

The National Indigenous Legal Conference (NILC) is relevant to all First Nations Judges, Barristers, Solicitors, Academics, Students and government officers and other professionals who work in the First Nations legal landscape.

How much does it cost to attend?

Standard - $1000

Junior Lawyer with 5 years or less post-admission experience - $800

Student - $400

Gala Dinner Ticket - $150

Can I share my registration with another person?

Splitting or sharing a registration is not allowed under any circumstance. Even if you only want to attend part of the conference you cannot share your registration with another delegate.

Can I register to attend just one session?

No. Registrations are for the full two days, which covers attendance to the entire day’s program. Delegates cannot register to attend a single session or a half-day session.

When do registrations close?

Conference registration and Dinner tickets are available until 5pm, Wednesday 19 November 2025, unless sold out prior.

Can I cancel my registration?

If you need to cancel your registration, please send your request via email to events@qls.com.au.

If we receive your cancellation at least 7 days before the event (not including the event day), we'll refund your registration fee minus a 30% cancellation fee. If the cancellation request comes in 7 days or less before the event (again, not including the event day), no refund will be offered. You may transfer your registration to another person at any time with no penalty. Full QLS events terms and conditions can be found here.

Is the event hybrid?

No, in-person attendance available only.


GETTING THERE

Where do I park?

QUT Gardens Point campus has onsite parking available, subject to availability. Parking information and rates available here

How do I get there on public transport?

Located in the heart of Brisbane CBD, 15km from Brisbane International and Domestic Airports. 

You can travel to and from QUT Gardens Point Campus by bus, train, CityCat (ferry) or taxi.

The campus has its own CityCat stop, and is a short walk from Central and South Bank train stations, and King George Square and Queen Street bus stations. A map and directions are available here.

Is there travel discounts available?

ON THE DAY

Is the conference catered?

Yes. We have a delicious and plentiful food and drink offering!

Will I get access to presenter materials?

Some presenter materials may be available on the conference app and some will be sent to attendees at the close of the conference. Materials availability is subject to presenter approval.

How to ask a question in a session?

If you wish to ask a question or make a comment during the session, please raise your hand and wait for the microphone or use the Live Q&A tab within the app for that session. The chair will address these at an appropriate time within the session.

Is there a dress code?

The dress code for the Conference and Dinner is business, or smart casual. Some attendees find the conference rooms cool so we recommend bringing a light jumper or jacket.
