Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) helps to not only support people who may have mental health concerns, but also helps to reduce the stigma associated with mental health.
The Standard MHFA Refresher is for people who completed the Standard MHFA course and were accredited via an assessment between July 2022 and December 2022. Completing the Refresher extends MHFA accreditation for a further three years.
This 4-hour face-to-face course gives you the opportunity to refresh the knowledge and skills learnt during the 12-hour Standard Mental Health First Aid course.
You will:
- Gain an up-to-date understanding of the latest research in the mental health field
- Learn the three key actions for helping someone feeling suicidal
- Work through complex mental health first aid interactions
- Practise mental health first aid skills
Registrants will need to provide a copy their Certificate of Accreditation prior to the training. You can access your copy via your Mental Health First Aid Account.
Participants who attended a previous Refresher Course will need to attend a full course as per Mental Health Frist Aid's accreditation pathway.
Presenter: Stephanie Cowie, Legal Workplace and Culture Consultant, Queensland Law Society
