Are you a solicitor looking to start, or deepen, your involvement in pro bono work? This session offers a practical and honest look at what pro bono work really involves across different areas of practice.
As part of Law Week, join Queensland Law Society and the Australian Pro Bono Centre for a panel discussion exploring the role solicitors play in supporting access to justice, and how pro bono work fits into real-world legal practice.
Hear directly from practitioners across large, medium and small firms as they share:
- What motivates them to take on pro bono work
- How they balance pro bono commitments alongside their day-to-day practice
- The challenges they’ve faced getting started and sustaining involvement, and how they’ve worked through them
- The personal and professional value they gain from giving back
The session will also highlight the support available to solicitors, including:
- Guidance and resources from the Australian Pro Bono Centre
- Queensland-based organisations and networks offering pro bono opportunities and support
Whether you’re already engaged in pro bono work or considering getting started, this session will provide practical insights and pathways to help you take the next step.
