Inappropriate behaviour in the workplace usually fits into three areas: discrimination, sexual harassment, and workplace bullying. In response to recent legislative changes and the Introduction of the Code of Practice “Managing the risk of psychosocial hazards at work” on 1 April 2023, QLS has developed a scenario-based workshop to equip people with knowledge, tools, and confidence to call out inappropriate behaviour in a safe and constructive way.
Delivered by specialist trained facilitators, the workshop is designed to support participants to develop intervention skills to address inappropriate behaviours through being an Active Bystander. The workshop features recorded scenes set in the workplace, using professional actors to aid in learning and understanding what bullying, harassment and discrimination look like in different contexts.
Learning Objectives
At the completion of the workshop participants will have:
- Sharpened awareness to recognise inappropriate behaviours of bullying, sexual harassment and discrimination in the workplace
- An understanding of the factors affecting the decision to intervene and respond appropriately to inappropriate behaviours
- Active Bystander tools to turn passive observation into action resulting in positive behavioural change
